Preview, Sri Lanka versus South Africa, T20 World Cup

This game represents a clash of the titans with it pitting the two favourites for the title with both having the most complete line ups in the Tournament

Needless to say a classic could be on the cards....

Likely Teams

Sri Lanka

After destroying Zimbabwe there is no reason to change the Team leaving it as follows:
Dilshan Munaweera, Tillakaratne Dilshan,  Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara,  Lahiru Thirimanne  Angelo Mathews,  Jeevan Mendis,  Thisara Perera,  Shaminda Eranga,  Lasith Malinga,  Ajantha Mendis

South Africa

Like Sri Lanka, South Africa ripped Zimbabwe a new corn shoot meaning the Team will be the same

Richard Levi,  Hashim Amla,  Jacques Kallis,  AB de Villiers,  JP Duminy,  Farhaan Behardien,  Albie Morkel  Johan Botha  Robin Peterson  Morne Morkel,  Dale Steyn

How the Match will be Won?

Sri Lanka

A Team full of class with its bowling being of the highest calibre as highlighted by the lethal 'Slinga Malinga' and its very accomplished spin stocks

in my mind I have little doubt that the bowling will perform to a level that will give the Team a great opportunity to win in every game they play

My main concern for Sri Lanka in looking at this match will be whether their batting can perform at an adequate level.

Which seems an absurd saying when you see the names of true Masters in the Team in Mahela and Kumar Sangakkara aided by the very feisty Dilshan.

Especially the first two...

Granted, all three are good enough to carry a Team, but against a South African bowling line up that has two of the best strike bowlers in the game in Steyn and Morkel the likelihood is they will need support

Outside of the accomplished Angelo Mathews, the rest of the batting might struggle against such bowling might.

Duly in this match it is imperative that the Sri Lankan top 3 perform well

With any score over 140 being adequate supported by the class of the attack. Especially their spinners, who might enjoy bowling to some of the South African batsmen who are very adverse to playing spin

South Africa

A very balanced Team in all aspects of the game with the main query between them winning or losing being their ability to execute in what will be the cauldron of cauldrons

I will never label them 'chokers', but lets just say that their is a query about them in crunch time

Starting with the batting, the trio of Kallis, Amla and Devilliers are some of the best batsmen in the game and you can expect them to be nightmares for oppositions attacks.

Throw in a supporting cast of Duminy and Petersen and the hitters of Levi and Morkel.......................Boy Howdy scary stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their bowling is not too dusty either with one of the best pace strike duos in the game in Steyn and Morkel and Johan Botha who is the anti Christ to scoring rates

They can field too and at a level that is better than anyone....

That as a factor in T20 can never be under played and could ultimately decide this match

On paper South Africa is a more complete and potentially better Team, but I just think the Sri Lankans will win this match
